Due to a larger-than-expected interest in attending, the location has changed for a meeting regarding a “People’s Convention to Reform New York.”

The town-hall-style meeting is still set for 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in Plattsburgh, but it was moved from the Plattsburgh International Airport to the Simulator Building at PARC, at 130 Arizona Ave.

Assemblywoman Janet Duprey, R-Peru, and Assembly Minority Leader Brian Kolb, R-Canandaigua, are the hosts. The point is to assess interest in and rally support for a “people’s convention” to update the state Constitution. Other such meetings are being held in other Republican Assembly districts, including one in Queensbury the same day with Assemblywoman Teresa Sayward of Willsboro.

Since seating is limited, those interested in attending are encouraged to RSVP by calling (518) 562-1986.

“They had so many RSVPs, they had to change the location because the original place could only hold 50 and they were at 60 yesterday,” Kolb spokesman Josh Fitzpatrick said Friday.
